HB 1139 Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans License Plates
Our veterans have made tremendous sacrifices; leaving their families and children and risking their lives to maintain our freedom and safety, they deserve this special recognition. This is one small way of honoring our brave men and women returning from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.


HB 1201 Reduce Racial Profiling and Notify Rights Before a Consent Search

When you are pulled over by the police, do you know your rights? There is lots of confusion about whether or not the cops are allowed to search your vehicle without your permission.  Just as Miranda helped to clarify arrest procedures for law enforcement by creating a single standard procedure, this bill provides a new uniform standard procedure. Blacks and Latinos are at least twice as likely to be stopped and searched as Whites. The new law will help curb racial profiling.


HB 1400 Protecting consumers and increasing the transparency of Refund Anticipation Loans (RAL)

It’s only fair that tax payers are made aware of the terms of their anticipation loans including interest rates. Tax preparers need to spell out what’s in the fine print so that consumers can make informed decisions about RALs.

SB 28  Colorado Work Share Program 

Instead of laying-off workers, businesses can choose to reduce the hours a group of employees work, making up the difference with unemployment compensation. Under the program, businesses get to keep experienced workers, and the workers get to keep their jobs and benefits. In other states, similar programs have been effective at saving nearly a quarter of a million jobs.


HB 1242 Uniform Individual Health Insurance Application
Will make finding a health insurance provider a less tedious task by creating one standard application instead of forcing consumers to fill out separate applications for each carrier. The uniform application will also create more lively competition among insurance companies as consumers will be able to easily compare prices.


HB 1366 Protecting the Public from Sex Offenders

Private petition companies sometimes neglect to perform background checks and have hired individuals with criminal backgrounds. Information such as a family’s address should not be so easily placed in the hands of a registered sex offender. You should have no fear that the information you disclose when signing a petition is falling into the wrong hands.

HB 1351 Payday Lending Reform
Pay day lenders, like credit card companies, are creating a viscous cycle of debt that traps too many Coloradans. The legislation holds pay day lenders accountable by capping the interest rate and making sure the terms of the loan are transparent.

HB 1119  State Measurements for Accountable Responsive and Transparent (SMART) Government Act
The S.M.A.R.T. Government Act will ensure that government will be more responsive, transparent and accountable by tying actual performance to funding, and by focusing on specific goals and outcomes. Coloradans deserve a government that is honest and effective, in order to protect our communities and ensure
freedom, opportunity and security for all Coloradans.

SB 62 Troops to Teachers Nothing is more important than giving back to the veterans who have sacrificed greatly for our country's security and prosperity. Colorado schools now have an incentive to include scholarship programs designed to assist veterans in entering the teaching profession.


HB 1290 Soldiers to Students will help members of the Colorado National Guard afford to go to college in Colorado. Soldiers who want to continue their education now have access to special scholarship funds to help them pay for school and ensure that they can compete in the global job market during or after they serve our
country in the National Guard.

HB 1275 Creating Jobs and Saving Lives is improving public safety, saving lives and helping create new jobs all across Colorado. Ensuring we fill all our EMT jobs will also cut down response times for Coloradans during emergencies. We need to get people to work and we need to make sure every single Coloradan is safe and
protected.

HB 1001 Colorado Jobs Tax Credit
Provides a Jobs Tax Credit to companies that bring new, high-paying jobs to our state.


SB 67 Colorado Credit Reserve Program
Leverages as much as $50 million to provide loans for Colorado’s small businesses so they can grow and thrive despite these tough times.

HB 1293 Colorado Healthcare Affordability Act
Saves money for the insured by reducing the hidden cost of caring for the uninsured in ERs, and provides more than 100,000 struggling Coloradans affordable healthcare without new taxes.
